Occupational health is often a science of exposure: one measures a problem, and then tries to assess its impact on health, performance, etc. In our view, this scientifically correct paradigm can also create a socio-political issue: when pointing the finger at an issue, we often point the finger at a more or less explicitally designated "offender".
However, the field experience shows that most of these offenders ignore that they are. Moreover, they are often left alone with dilemnas that they cannot solve. Hence, their first reaction is often a defensive one. They may also be tempted to point their finger at another supposed "offender". Little by little, this is how we forget to look for a solution. In this scheme, "offenders" can be employers or employees, depending on the situation.
Erg'OH Conseil is impregnated with the culture of Northern Europe, in which a problem is the beginning of a solution, not necessarily of a law suit. Hence, we take our time to consider the issue under all the angles to understand the whys and the hows. Then, we help all parties involved identifying and implementing a solution.
For us, the law is a framework that must always be respected. However, we rarely use it as the starting point of a discussion, to avoid creating a tunnel vision of a situation. The law comes to support the analytic process, but drives the latter only when it helps understanding what the legislator understood as being a common interest for all parties involved.

Ergonomics vs. posturology
Ergonomics is the science of work: it cares for tools, environments and work organisation. It considers the worker as he is, and does not attempt to modify him. Posturology according to the Scandinavian Mensendieck method aims at changing "biomechanical habits", i.e. posture and movement patterns.
Combining ergonomics with posturology, Erg'OH Conseil reaches two goals:
